Workplace Re-emergence - Helping Great Women Return to the Workplace.

The phenomenon of gender disparity in the workplace has always been a hotly debated topic, and despite years of discussion around the subject, the problem remains prevalent. At PayU, we are committed to actively managing employee diversity and inclusion, recognising and utilising the contributions of different skills and talents. We value the contributions that each individual can make due to their unique experiences and perspectives, including those of men and women who also have family responsibilities.

PayU has a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion at the senior leadership level. We are committed to addressing the gender gap at all levels and at all stages of the workforce - from recruitment and hiring to assessment and promotion.

One of our existing initiatives is a double bonus for employees who refer female candidates, and the response to this programme has been overwhelming, with over 300 referrals received in a short period of time. We also offer childcare subsidies to support mothers and single fathers in their family responsibilities.

The gender gap in the workplace is partly due to experienced female employees temporarily leaving their jobs due to extended leave. At PayU, we are committed to addressing this issue. Recently, our HR team attended the HerRising Women's Conference in Bangalore, organised by JobsForHer (JFH), an organisation that helps women find the right opportunities to restart their careers after a break.PayU had an exclusive space at the conference, where we spoke to more than 2,000 female industry professionals at various stages of their careers and reached out to more than 400 of them in depth.

We see gender diversity as the starting point for making PayU more inclusive. Not only do we want to attract and engage more women, but we also want to go a step further and create a platform at PayU for women who want to return to work after a break. To do this, we've partnered with the JFH team.

We are pleased to launch the "Workplace Re-entry" programme, which will provide jobs that are restricted to female re-entrants. As part of this programme, we will provide these women with specific employment opportunities at PayU offices so that they can restart their careers with PayU. These women will be assigned a 'workplace buddy' within their existing team for a period of one month to help them make a smooth transition back into a professional work environment. These opportunities will cover a variety of areas.

Women who wish to return to work will join PayU as interns for an initial six-month probationary period. Upon completion of the probationary period, and based on their performance, their employment may be confirmed. Leaders also have the right to hire full-time employees directly from this group of women if the candidate is suitable and meets all position requirements.

Through these and many other programmes and initiatives, we are gradually transforming PayU into a more open, inclusive and diverse company and a better place to work.
