How to Access Four Square Payments in India: A User's Guide to Accepting, Tracking and Reconciling Payments in Tally Software

User's Guide to Accepting, Tracking and Reconciling Payments in the Tally Software

At PayU, we are committed to innovating products that seamlessly integrate with an organisation's existing products/processes to address their payment needs. This time, we worked with our five-star certified Tally partner, Scaleup Anchors, to develop a solution that allows Tally users to accept, track and reconcile payments directly within the Tally software. Tally users can now email or text customers a payment link for their bills and track the status of those payments in real time. We are proud to announce that this is the first solution to accept digital payments within Tally.

The following is a step-by-step guide on how to collect, track and reconcile payments in the Tally software. This guide consists of the following three sections:

1. Deployment and activation of PayU in Tally

2. Send payment link in Tally invoice

3. Tracking and reconciliation of payments

Step 1: Go to the "Tally Gateway" menu, click on "PayU Settings", and then go to "Open Books".

Step 2: Select a contact from the ledger list.

Step 3: Use the space bar to select the invoice you wish to receive payment for and click the "Send Payment Link" button on the right-hand tab, or use the CTR+C shortcut.

Note - The payment link will be sent to the customer's registered mobile number and email ID, so please make sure you have added the customer's contact details before sending the link. You can re-send the link at any time by going to "Open Book" and triggering "Send Payment Link" again.

If Tally Printing is enabled, a payment link can be triggered with one click when creating a sales ledger. The payment link can be triggered to the customer when creating a print preview. You can disable the link by turning off the print feature in Tally.

Step 4: When the customer receives the link, they have the option to make a partial or full payment. In the case of a partial payment, the customer can always use the same payment link to pay the balance.

Step 5: Customers can click on the payment link and choose to pay through any payment method such as credit card, debit card, net banking, UPI and wallet. Once the payment is successful, the money will be settled to your bank account.
