How to find UPI ID on different payment platforms: which platform companies are available for three-way payments in India

How to Find UPI IDs on Different Payment Platforms

Since its introduction by NPCI in mid-2016, the Unified Payment Interface (UPI) is gradually becoming the default mode for merchants and peer-to-peer transactions. This is mainly because it allows users to perform debit/credit operations easily and instantly, all year round!

The adoption rate and ease of use of UPI speaks for itself. Here are the latest statistics on UPI trends:

- The number of banks with UPI live grew from 114 in April 2018 to 142 in July 2019

- The number of transactions increased from 235 million in July 2018 to 822 million in July 2019

Thus, today we find all the major apps supporting UPI payment feature for the convenience of their users and themselves. However, to transact online through UPI, you need a unique UPI ID.

What is a UPI ID?

UPI ID or Virtual Payment Address (VPA) is a unique ID used to send or receive funds through UPI. Users with a UPI ID (associated with a UPI-supported bank) can receive funds in their bank account without sharing the account number or other details. Users can simply share the UPI ID with the payer to receive the money directly to their bank account.

Different apps may have different UPI IDs. e.g. Paytm sets it to yourphonenumber@paytm format. In other apps, your UPI ID may be different depending on the bank you are associated with, such as yourname@bankname.

Here's how to view UPI ID in some of the popular apps:
