What is an offline UPI payment number

How to set up an offline UPI account
Before making an offline UPI payment, users must set up an account on their mobile phone to enable the feature.
Here are the steps
Firstly, switch on your mobile phone and dial *99#. users need to dial this USSD code to enable offline UPI payments. Note: Remember to make this call from the phone number associated with your bank account. If another phone number is used to operate this service, it will not work. Immediately thereafter, the user will be asked to select the preferred language from a list of 13 languages. After that, the user will be asked to enter the bank IFSC Code. Once the system recognises the bank IFSC, it will display all the bank accounts associated with the phone number (provided that the number registered with the bank is used). The user can select the account to be used by entering "1" or "2". In the last step, the 6-digit card number and expiry date are entered for verification. Upon successful completion of all these steps, the offline UPI payment feature will be activated automatically. The Government of India has decided to change UPI payments to offline payments so that common people can use them.
Payment steps using offline UPI:
Firstly, dial *99# on your mobile phone, the phone number is the phone number registered in the user's bank account.
Upon completion, a menu will appear with all available options. The user will be presented with the following options:
payee Request for remittance Check Balance My Profile Pending Requests Transactions UPI PINAt this point, the user can select the relevant option according to their needs. For now, let's choose "1", i.e. remittance.
Now, enter the UPI ID to be paid.
Next, the system will ask for the amount to be sent. Click Send when you are done.
The software will ask for the UPI PIN code to verify the payment. Once the correct PIN code is entered, the payment will be completed automatically.
With that, the offline UPI deal has been successfully completed!
Note: Users can also disable offline UPI service by calling *99# from a registered phone number and following its instructions.
