How to create a UPI ID

To create a UPI ID, you can follow the steps below:

Register your bank account and mobile number using UPI-enabled apps (e.g. Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, Mobikwik, etc.). This registration process can be done using any UPI-enabled banking app or Bharath Interface for Money (BHIM) app.

Creating UPI IDs in BHIM Applications

Download the BHIM application or any other application that accepts UPI When using the BHIM application, after selecting your preferred language and "accepting" the various prompts, you will receive a request to "verify your mobile phone number". Once the verification process is complete, you will be asked to select your preferred bank name. The application will automatically receive the bank name, IFSC code and account number details. If you have multiple accounts added to the same mobile number, you can select the desired account to link to the app. You have to set UPI ID and 4 or 6 digit PIN to secure all your transactions.
