At Paytm, we have always endeavoured to provide you with the best possible service. That said, we are sorry to see you choose to leave. However, we are ready to help you with any issues you encounter. If you wish to close your account, please ensure that you do not have a balance in your account. If you do have a balance, you can choose to deal with it in one of the following ways:

1. use the balance to make transactions on any of Paytm's services.

2. Transfer the balance to any other registered Paytm mobile number.

3. Transfer to any bank account.

- Closing your account will unbind your mobile number and the associated login ID and password will no longer be valid. This means that you will no longer be able to log into Paytm using these credentials.

- As per clause 9.1(i)(g) and (k) of paragraph 9 of the Reserve Bank of India's Guidelines dated 11 October 2017, the balance of your Paytm account can only be transferred to another Paytm account or a bank account after completing the verification of identity (KYC) (check the relevant Reserve Bank of India Guidelines: bit.ly/ppiwallet ).

- As per the requirements of Section 12, Points 3 and 4 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) (bit.ly/fiuindia) and Paragraph 6, Point 6.3 of the PPI Guidelines (bit.ly/ppiwallet), records of your transactions are required to be retained for a period of up to 10 years after the account is deleted. This data will be stored on servers located in India and will never be shared with any third party. Only government agencies authorised by law can access this information through legitimate data requests.

Please follow the steps below to submit an account closure request:

Step 1: Login to Paytm using your old mobile number.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on "☰" in the top left corner.

Step 3: Access the 24×7 Help Centre.

Step 4: Click on "Profile Settings".

Step 5: Select "I need to close/delete my account".

Step 6: Select "I no longer use this Paytm account".

Step 7: Click "Send us a message" to submit your request.

We will verify your request and close your account. We hope to see you again in the near future!
