India Against Epidemics - Safe at home, safe at work -

In the face of the worsening New Crown epidemic worldwide, it is the responsibility of each and every one of us to take every precaution to control the spread of the virus. To this end, we should follow the lockdown guidelines, reduce going out and keep a social distance. Below are some points to note in terms of keeping a social distance:

- Work from home and avoid travelling to the office

- Minimising the risk of virus transmission through banknotes

- Avoidance of out-of-home purchases of daily necessities in favour of online ordering and online payment

- Managing finances and making payments using banking applications

- Cancellation or postponement of meetings, gatherings, etc.

- Stay in touch with friends and family through video or voice calls

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), even at home, we should follow the following personal hygiene practices to stay safe in the fight against the new coronavirus:

- Wash your hands frequently: Clean your hands often with a hand sanitiser containing alcohol or wash them with soap and water. Washing your hands with soap and water or using a hand sanitiser containing alcohol can kill the virus.

- Keep people at a distance: keep at least one metre away from others. When we cough or sneeze, we may spray droplets containing viruses. If we get too close, we may catch a virus from another person.

- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth: our hands can get the virus anywhere, so you should avoid touching your own eyes, nose and mouth to prevent the virus from getting into your body.

- Maintain respiratory hygiene: always wear a mask if you need to go outside or have cold symptoms. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or handkerchief when coughing or sneezing and dispose of used tissues safely. This will prevent the virus from spreading through droplets.

- Seek medical help: If you have symptoms such as fever, cough or difficulty breathing, isolate yourself and seek medical help. This will not only protect you, but also prevent the virus from spreading to others. Follow your local health department's guidelines for reporting.
