Optimise online payment gateway checkout process

The question of how to achieve a payment gateway process that is both excellent and easy to use is one that almost all online businesses face. When it comes to online payments, even small changes in the checkout process can have a huge impact on the user experience. Our internal data shows that small changes have led to significant fluctuations in conversion rates. With the improved PayUmoney Payment Gateway checkout process, we have made the whole process easier and more convenient. Here are some of our special features:

Provide separate labels for each payment method

Switching payment options is now very simple. Your customers can now view and select their preferred payment method, such as wallet, bank card, internet banking, etc. on one screen.

Reducing the number of jumps

Want to offer your customers the option to pay via a saved card? Here are the most common checkout processes:

Step 1: The customer goes to the payment method page

Step 2: Click on Login

Step 3: Enter mobile phone/email address

Step 4: Enter the verification code to log in

Step 5: Select "Bank Card" again.

Step 6: Enter CVV

Step 7: Enter the captcha code on the 3dS page

With an improved checkout process, your customers can avoid having to repeatedly select a payment method between multiple pages. If you have provided a mobile phone number and email address, the profile section will be automatically filled in (as shown in the red box below) and a saved card or wallet associated with that email and mobile phone number will be available for use. If not provided, they will have the option to enter a mobile phone and email address.

Enhanced user profile management

Your customers will now be given the option to change their personal details, e.g. logging in from a different mobile phone number and email address. This solves the problem of customers wanting to use a different payment method (a saved bank card or wallet associated with a different combination of email and mobile phone) than originally envisaged. This allows them to avoid having to go through the whole process all over again in order to choose another payment method.

We have also made several technical optimisations to reduce the number of API calls and page load time, thus speeding up the processing of the payment gateway. Below is the list of features supported in this release:
