**丰富支付人生——莉迪亚·普里雅达什尼的PayUner日记**

Since its inception, PayU has endeavoured to foster openness, integrity, ownership, courage and collaboration in its vibrant and connected work culture. Whether it's a full-time employee or an intern, this leading payment gateway in India has always encouraged innovation and transparency in its workforce. Lydia Priyadarshini, a brilliant and dynamic PayUner, is a woman with a strong point of view who embodies the company's core values of ownership and integrity. The following is a fascinating look at her journey at PayU, full of wisdom and valuable lessons.

**From Lydia's Desk ......**

**Starting point**

Starting fresh in a fast-paced and sprawling city like Mumbai is indeed an exciting task, and when I settled in Mumbai in late 2017 after my marriage, I couldn't have imagined myself joining India's leading payment gateway 'PayUmoney'! Soon, I started following the traditional job search process of applying to multiple companies and narrowing it down to the ones I really wanted to join... PayUmoney was on my 'narrowed down' list, and I got a call from them asking if I was interested in a marketing position. I was happy, but the only thing that worried me was the distance. Yes, Mumbai is a city of dreams and achievements, but so is the distance! Planning the workplace correctly from home and carefully navigating the crowds was a real challenge at first. But I think I did pretty well as a new Mumbaiite and PayUner.

**Selection process**

With time, after a few rounds of interviews, I received my appointment letter as Head of Content Marketing at PayUmoney. The interview was intense, but the questions ranged from "Why did you move to Mumbai?" to "What have you done in the past and what do you want to be responsible for in the future?" etc. It was a smooth process.

**Working mode on! **

I was very happy and excited to see my new workplace for the first time, it was bright and open and visible in whichever direction I looked. I commented, "Nice!" It has given me a new sense of learning, creativity, friendship, and so much more.

**My team and I**

I met my upline, who introduced me to the entire FinTech industry (since I was new), through PayUmoney, its features and my detailed role in the marketing team. Content marketing, or inbound marketing, is the most important aspect of any business. My first task was to convert the complex product description that was based on a complex product description into a simple and easy to understand version. After many revisions, it was finally complete. I did learn a lot in the process. Gradually, I mastered the way of working and, more importantly, learnt which methods work. Thanks to all my team members and superiors.

**Skills upgrading**

My high-quality content creation skills gradually improved, and I took on several projects that included writing concise and effective emails, product pages, FAQs, and more. But I will always treasure my first blog on PayUmoney: How to Accept Payments with UPI Payment Gateway. I really put all my heart and soul into this blog: creativity, SEO tips and learnings, co-ordination, and so on. My efforts paid off when the blog ranked on the first page of search engines.

**New major projects**

"We are creating great content. But writing is not enough. Distribution of content will get us results!" -- one of my superiors.

After learning SEO and writing B2B content, my next project was content distribution. I volunteered to learn new things and my supervisor supported me throughout. Understanding people's viewing and browsing habits, the choice of topics for specific dates, the best time to view content on different channels, etc. were all valuable lessons to gain insight into consumer behaviour. Initially, we distributed content on a daily basis, but the numbers didn't go up. Content distribution is an ongoing process that requires patience for the numbers to improve. Eventually, the rule worked! Our numbers started to rise and my efforts paid off! I really enjoyed distributing our re-targeted content in the form of PPTs, videos, infographics, etc. to the following channels:

Medium

Slideshare

YouTube

Even though I had no prior experience with many of the things I did at PayU, I was given more responsibility, which allowed me to be the best I could be in everything I did. One of my favourite things about being a PayUner is brainstorming. It's the act of taking ideas (no matter how basic, obvious, brilliant or ridiculous they sound), breaking them down and evaluating them from a results perspective.

**First business expedition**

"At PayU, our credo is work hard, play hard!"

Our SMB team's three-day trip to Bhutan is one of my favourite memories as..:

This is my first business trip.

For the first time I got to meet the whole huge team from different locations!

The serene beauty of Bhutan was stunning and the group of people around me were very interesting and welcoming. We visited many places, but the Tiger's Nest Monastery was the most fascinating. A serene monastery 3000 feet above the Paro Valley, it is worth the five hour trek!

**PayU, my second home***

The overall experience at PayU has been very positive and enriching for me in terms of the knowledge I have gained. It's more of an entrepreneurial environment full of creativity and laughter. A relaxed place where everyone is treated equally, from the top leaders to the support staff. This is the first group of close friends I have found at Mumbai - my colleagues who have been more than supportive both personally and professionally.

With these fond memories and a lifetime of experiences, Lydia ends her story here. However, just as the show must go on ...... while investing all your marketing efforts in your business, it is also a good idea to have an all-inclusive payment solution. Now, enjoy the best payment gateway experience and grow your business with ease!
